Refund Policy

1. Introduction?

LITC is committed to providing high-quality training and educational services. We understand that circumstances may change, and we aim to ensure a fair and transparent refund policy in compliance with UK consumer protection laws. This policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be granted.

2. Cooling-Off Period (Online & Distance Learning Courses)

If a course is purchased online, by phone, or via email, learners have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase. If no course materials have been accessed or training has not commenced, a full refund will be issued. If the learner accesses course materials or attends any session within the cooling-off period, they waive their right to a refund.

3. Classroom-Based & In-Person Courses

If the learner cancels at least 14 days before the course start date, they are eligible for a full refund minus an administrative fee of 50. If cancellation occurs between 7-14 days before the start date, 50% of the course fee will be refunded. If cancellation occurs less than 7 days before the course start date, no refund will be issued.

4. Instalment Payments & Finance Agreements

Learners on an instalment plan remain liable for all outstanding payments, even if they choose to discontinue the course, unless a refund is applicable under this policy. If a finance or loan agreement was used to pay for the course, learners may be entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel the finance agreement, as per the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

5. Non-Delivery or Misrepresentation

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, learners may request a full or partial refund if:
– The course was not delivered as described or significantly different from advertised.
– The course provider failed to deliver essential course components.
– There was misleading or incorrect information that significantly impacted the learner’s decision to enrol.
Refund claims must be made in writing within 30 days of identifying the issue.

6. Exceptional Circumstances

LITC may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis in the event of:
– Medical emergencies (with supporting documents).
– Bereavement of an immediate family member.
– Severe personal hardship affecting the ability to continue the course.
In such cases, LITC may offer a partial refund, deferment, or credit toward future courses.

7. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 14 working days of approval. Refunds will be made using the original payment method. If the payment was made via a finance agreement, the refund will be issued to the finance provider, not directly to the learner.

8. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, learners must:
1. Submit a written request to info@litc.org with the subject line: ‘Refund Request – [Learner Name]’.
2. Include full details of the course, reason for the refund request, and any supporting documents.
3. Await confirmation from LITC within 5 working days regarding the request status.
