Our Purpose
Girl Power UK is on a mission to instil a profound sense of self-belief, leadership, and confidence in young women. We achieve this by raising awareness and equipping them with the skills and tools they need to not only thrive in employment, education, and training but also to succeed in life.
Our Objectives
- Menstrual Healthcare Awareness: We aim to increase awareness about menstrual healthcare, breaking taboos, and ensuring that young women have access to the knowledge and resources they need.
- Using Football for Aspiration: Football isn’t just a game; it’s a powerful tool to inspire and unite. We use football to raise the aspirations of young women and promote teamwork.
- Employment and Developmental Skills: Our program imparts practical employment and developmental skills, giving young women a competitive edge in the job market
- Addressing Current Issues: We actively raise awareness about the pressing issues that young girls face, sparking vital conversations and driving positive change.
- Informed Choices: Girl Power UK empowers young women to make informed decisions about their future, ensuring they have the knowledge and confidence to pursue their dreams.
- Independence and Confidence: We encourage independence and instill greater self-confidence in young women by supporting them in addressing and resolving challenges within their communities.

Project Outcomes
- LITC will train 20 football coaches in five locations across Cameroon: Yaounde (Center), Douala (Litoral), Bafoussam (West), Limbe (South West), and Bamenda (Northwest).
- Emphasis will be placed on the Choice for Women and Women SAFE programs, empowering these coaches with the tools to drive positive change.
What to Expect
- Creating Safe Spaces: We aim to create safe spaces where young individuals can learn, share experiences, and challenge harmful traditional, religious, and cultural practices that hinder personal development.
- Building Leadership Capacity: Our program focuses on building the leadership capacity of young coaches. They will receive training on UN SDGs and key social issues, positioning them as leaders in sports coaching and development.
- Empowering Peer Education: Young people will be empowered to design, develop, and implement educational pathways for their peers and communities, furthering the mission of positive change.
