YOUNG PEOPLE ERASMUS+

EU ACTSPORTS! Achieving Change Through Sport!

YOUTH EXCHANGES

Achieving Change Through Sport!

The Economic Crisis, Technological Innovations, Climate change, Migration, Globalization ... the world is changing quickly, and what role do young people have in this change? What tools do you need to be the protagonists of this movement?

Sport is certainly one of these and how do you use these?

With this youth exchange, British and other participants will discuss the themes of Active Citizenship, Social Inclusion, and Sport as a tool for integration. This exchange starts in England and then another European country, we will discover how Sport can be the engine of change, and how many other activities can have the same value. Together we will try to understand how young people can become Active Citizens within the English or another European country. Encountering many different realities, through discussion and dialogue we will learn much of social inclusion and use our imagination and creativity.

The total places available are 12.

The exchange is open to participants aged between 16 and 24.

The participation cost is €252, and it includes all related expenses: Food, Lodging, Travel.

Before departure we will organise some meetings for information/ training of the participants in the exchange group. To participate, fill out the form that is attached at the bottom of this page. Minors must also fill out the parents’ consent form, always attached.

Registration is open until the 30th September 2017.  We will try to maintain a balance between genders and age of the participants, including those who have already participated in similar projects and those who have never participated.

By  15th October we will contact selected candidates.

Deporte de Europa

Deporte de Europa is LITC's first European Voluntary Service (EVS) project. EVS activity that allows young people aged 18-30 to take part in unpaid and full-time voluntary service for up to 12 months in another country within or outside the European Union. Young volunteers were given the opportunity to contribute to the daily work of organisations and bring community benefit, as well as develop their own skills. Voluntary service may take place in health and social care, environmental conservation or other community projects.

Deporte de Europa is an exceptional programme for young people Not in Employment, Education or Training aged 18 to 30 years of age, interested in volunteering in dynamic Sport for Development NGOs, Youth Community organisations and Local councils embedding key social and human rights themes within the organisation's current delivery.

Volunteers from the UK were given the opportunity to participate in an international training programme focused on promoting, encouraging and improving living conditions through a variety of training programs; sports, recreational, educational, and cultural. It encouraged sustained participation in Sport, reduced disengagement of Sports participants and promoted community values. LITC coordinated this programme with our partner organisation in Badalona, Spain.

The programme aims to enhance the volunteer's experience by learning new skills, gaining international experience, cultural exchanges and the opportunity to launch their own micro-projects working with local volunteers and professionals. Volunteers will expand their experience, knowledge and portfolios by undertaking practical work experience and training in Spain.

YOUTHPASS will be used throughout the volunteer diary; volunteers can review their daily progress before the final progress report at the end of the project.
